Job Summary
The Housing Fellowship, a nonprofit affordable rental housing provider in Johnson County, is seeking a full-time Project Manager/Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. THF owns and manages 200+ rental homes in Johnson County, including single family homes, duplexes, townhomes, and multifamily apartments.
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and all property management related activities for THF’s rental homes. This role involves managing maintenance projects, troubleshooting issues, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, along with experience in HVAC systems, to effectively lead maintenance operations. The incumbent manages two maintenance staff with plans to expand in the coming years.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Ensure properties meet applicable laws, regulations, ordinances, building, and rental codes.
- Manage repair and maintenance projects ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Ensure properties are maintained to high standards of livability, efficiency, and curb appeal.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and tenant notices.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all team members.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices, safety protocols, and technical skills.
- Participate in budget development; approve maintenance expenses.
- Assist with the management of corporation contracts and funding agreements.
- Assist with the selection and acquisition of new properties.
- Assist with leasing and occupancy processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a maintenance environment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and maintenance skills. Hands on HVAC experience preferred.
- Experience in project management, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Compliance with Personnel Policies and Procedures.
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00/year
Schedule: Monday to Friday
